Protalogic ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose information when you use our mobile application Furl (the "App"). We comply with applicable privacy laws and regulations in the regions where we operate.
By using our App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
On-Device First
Furl is designed to be private by default. The links, posts, notes, categories and tags you save are stored locally on your device. We do not require an account, and your library is not uploaded to our servers.
If you delete the App, your locally stored library is deleted with it, so we recommend exporting a backup first.
Information We Collect
We collect only what is needed to run the App:
• Content You Save — Links, text snippets and notes you share to Furl are processed on your device to fetch titles, thumbnails and previews from the source website.
• Device Information — Basic information such as operating system and device type may be processed by our service providers (e.g. the app stores and subscription infrastructure).
• Purchase Information — If you subscribe to Furl Pro, our subscription partner processes your purchase. We never see your payment card details.
• Usage & Quality Analytics — We collect anonymous, aggregated usage and diagnostic data (such as which screens are opened, which features are used, and crash or error signals) through Google Firebase Analytics, solely to understand how the App is used and to improve its quality and reliability. This data is not used to identify you, and it never includes the content you save — your links, titles, descriptions, notes, tags and search terms are not captured.
AI Categorization
When the optional AI categorization feature (part of Furl Pro) is enabled, the title, description and link of a save may be sent to our AI processing partner (OpenAI) to suggest the best category. This data is used only to generate the suggestion and is not used by us to identify you. You can turn this feature off at any time in Settings, and saves will fall back to on-device keyword matching.
How We Use Your Information
We may use the information described above for the following purposes:
• To provide and maintain the App
• To fetch link previews and organize your saves
• To process and manage your subscription
• To improve the App and our services
• To comply with legal obligations
Sharing Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share limited information with third-party service providers that help operate the App, such as subscription infrastructure (Adapty), the app stores (Apple App Store / Google Play), anonymous usage analytics (Google Firebase), and AI processing (OpenAI) when you enable AI categorization.
These third parties are obligated to keep information confidential and use it only for the purposes for which it was provided.
Data Security
Your library lives on your device and is protected by your device's own security. Where data is transmitted (e.g. fetching link previews, AI categorization, subscription management), we use encrypted connections. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Rights
Because your library is stored on your device, you are always in control of it:
• Access & Export — You can view and export your saved links at any time from Settings.
• Deletion — You can delete individual saves, categories, or the entire App (which removes your local data).
• Opt-out — You can disable AI categorization at any time.
If you are located in the EU or EEA, you may have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Contact us to exercise them.
International Data Transfers
Where data is processed by our service providers (e.g. link preview fetching or AI categorization), it may be processed in countries outside of your country of residence. In such cases, appropriate measures are taken to ensure information remains protected in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable laws.
Children's Privacy
Our App is not intended for direct use by children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to securely delete that information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of the policy and notify you through the App or other means.
